"Alright alright alright," Haymich grumbled. "I'll stop by the Tavern at least once a day for ya."

Cate grinned. "Perfect. Well, guess I'll leave you to your business, then."

Haymich waved her off. "See ya round, if we don't die."
A low and cut off scoff came from the headphones with Calculator in them.

Thoughtful, Cate headed back home with Calculator's guidance.

~~~~~~~~~--
Ethel, happily returned home with a large sum of money and severed connections from her extended family, had been going on many walks lately. After all, being stopped in the street and asked about what it was like being kidnapped had some appeal to it. It didn't happen very often, but once in a while someone would recognize her from the campaign, and she felt quite special when that happened.
So, long story short, she's out on a walk. Probably near some sort of scenery or park, because that is much more enjoyable than shady alleyways and garbage.
A teenager sidled up to her. She was dressed in black with spiky orange hair. She looked like an advertisement for Halloween. "Heyyyy," she said. "You're that old lady who got kidnapped, right?"
"Well, that's a fine greeting if there ever was one," Ethel huffed, looking affronted. "No, 'hello ma'am, nice weather, ma'am can I carry your bag for you, grandma!'?"
The girl grinned. "Got something better." She slipped a canister into Ethel's hand. "Self-defense. It's not pepper spray-- something better."
"Self-defense," the girl said. "Spray it at an attacker and they'll leave you alone. Don't worry, it doesn't do anything permanent." She grinned at Ethel and then walked cheerfully away, blending into the crowd as much as is possible for the physical embodiment of Halloween.
Ethel frowned, and looked at the thing in her hands. She didn't very much like the sound of .. whatever this was. But who could she go to in order to figure out what it was? The police? Then they'd take it from her, and who knows, maybe she would have liked to keep it. Ethel hummed in thought and then decided to go to the next best option. She headed straight for the Tavern.
