"In some respects. But at least we can have some things that others can't." Ash said. She finished up the first pancake.
Crane could only make out a little bit of what they were saying. The tables were too far apart to really hear them while they were being so quiet... but at least he could tell that they were both upset about something. Just from the way the looked.

"True," Aleenya agreed. Then she sighed. "It's so hard for me. I hate Allie, I want to hurt her, and yet... I don't."

Ash nodded slightly. "I gotcha... I still hate her though," she said, cautiously.
Crane raised an eyebrow in shock as all he heard was "Allie." He hoped that they weren't talking about the Moss girl.

Aleenya shrugged. "Sometimes I really do to." She shook her head. "I've always liked acting too. I think I'm just... jealous. It's okay if you hate her," Aleenya added. "I do too... or I don't." She shook her head. "I'm confused about it," she said flatly.

Ash nodded. "Just like I'm confused about..." she stole a quick glance at Crane as a waitress walked up to him. "You know."
Crane sighed inwardly as the waitress came. Right when the conversation could have been interesting! "What would you like sir?" "Coffee," he said shortly. "And have you decided on something to eat?" "Pancake platter," he answered, annoyed. "Sausage or bacon with that?" Crane shook his head. Why would he care?! "Bacon." "Alright sir, I'll get that coming to you straight away."

Aleenya nodded. "I DO know," she said. "That's kind of why I came to you... I want her go get hurt without hurting her. Does that make sense?" She shook her head, sighing. To herself she said, "Allie has to make all these enemies and be so ANNOYING. Why can't she just be NORMAL for once?"

"Why can't we?" Ash asked. She blinked slightly and looked down, embarrassed. "Sorry, I always think these things.. I look on both sides of almost everything."
Crane sighed. It seemed he had missed something interesting. Now all he had was that one of them thought they weren't normal... did it have something to do with the "fugitive" or the "Allie" person, that was hopefully not Moss?

"That's okay," Aleenya said. "Sometimes I do to. It's just... I worry. With all of Allie's enemies, I worry that one of them will get to our parents. She can make the name Moss sound like an insult for all I care, but I want my parents to be safe." She glanced at Ash. "You know what I mean, surely."

Ash nodded. "I left my home town, for exactly that reason," she said. "Nobody knows where my parents live."
It was at this point that Crane became convinced that the two women next to him were not the most upstanding citizens... it was amazing the amount of bizarre people you could find in Gotham. On top of that, the "Allie" that they hated WAS Moss. At least he could relate to them.

(He can, it's true. I wonder if he'll realize who they are, at least Aleenya-- if he even knows who she is. She was heard of, just not FAMOUS.)
Aleenya sighed. "The problem with having famous parents... Really, it's been annoying for my whole life."

(But she DID escape from HIS asylum..)
"Even famous people can disappear... just look at Tu-Pak," Ash said.
That made Crane scoff in skepticism quietly.

(True... and I don't get it.)
"But it's hard," Aleenya argued. She took another bite of pancake.

"Tu-Pak is supposed to be dead... I don't think he is," Ash said, half to herself.
The waitress walked back up to Crane. "Here you go sir, and tell me if you need anything else," she said, giving him his food and coffee.

Aleenya was already almost done with her pancakes. Aleenya shrugged. "After this I wanna try to steal back some more stuff from my place."
(I don't wanna bother explaining... can we say she already told that story?)

Ash was getting close to finishing, but she was a slow eater and still had a good amount of coffee left. "You're still welcome to stay at my place."
Dang it. Crane groaned inside. They had forgotten the syrup. But the women next to him had some... maybe he should ask them.
