"Oh, don't cry dear, the worst is still to come!" she chuckled as she carved. "Now then, next question, and the results don't mean the same thing this time, so be careful: What's your life's goal, and no lying!"

"And what if I don't answer?" Anne challenged, staring as her own blood pooled on the floor.

"Then I might just have to take the last words you spoke as your answer and carve THOSE into your stomach. Who knows, we might even reach a more painful place by the end of that. I'll give you to the count of 5. 1...2..."

"Love," Anne said wildly, and then swore mentally. Couldn't she have thought of a shorter word. She stared at the knife. Once again, she tried to escape but moving hurt too much... She closed her eyes and leaned back, her muscles tight in anticipation.

"Goody, goody, something I can make something out of." She started carving the words "and lovely" into her flesh. The blood was flowing freely.

Anne moaned. Once again, she just wanted the pain to end. "You've hurt me, all right?" Anne gasped, hating the way the duct tape (did you also use to think it was duck tape?) stuck to her skin. "I'll have these scars forever. Can't you just go?"
Her mind flashed back to days spent daydreaming about this kind of thing, some form of excitement. But she had always gotten away in the end, and she had never truly understood the pain.
Pain.

"Don't worry, hon, I'm almost done. And it was never about the pain, it's about leaving my mark, an impression on the world. Or its occupants, whichever you choose. One final question, then we'll be done, ok? What do you want most, right now, hmm?"

"Freedom," Anne said, having given up long ago on fighting. She winced. Another long word...
"Making your mark," she said bitterly. "The sad thing is, I understand what you mean."

(darn, i had a different word in mind...oh well) "Ok, I can make that work. Metaphors have always been my thing!" she commented as the word freedom was scarred into Anne's stomach. She admired the phrase "white and lovely freedom" which would stick with her little buddy here forever.

(What was it?)
"Are... are you done?" Anne muttered, wanting that very thing. Freedom. Her stomach and legs were warm with blood as it soaked through the duct tape, leaving a stain in the carpet. She rested her head on the back of the chair, trying to think of anything but her injuries.
It didn't work.

("pain" like the opposite of what she wanted now)
"Yeah, mostly. I'll have to set up your freedom, though, so you don't stick me with that spork in your back pocket when I let you go." In the following ten minutes, Crackletalk arranged a series of domino-like chain reactions stemming from a vibrating timer involving a sledgehammer, cuttlery, a pan, several knives, a couple of marbles, more ducktape, and a pane of glass that would eventually set Anne free. After, that is, she got away.

(Haha. That WOULD be cool.)
Anne watched her, not entertained at all. She waited. And waited. And waited.
(What do you mean, set her free?)

(rip open the ducktape)
Eventually, when she finished up and had tested it on a spare piece of ducktape (because there's always enough), Lily (cuz now she's happy) set the timer for 1 hour and said "Tootles!" in an overly girly voice. Then she left out the front door, jumped in her car, and listened to Pain by Three Days Grace all the way home.

(Good song for this... "Pain, without love...")
Anne waited the long hour, until the duct tape was painfully ripped off.
Very painfully.
Unable to stand properly, she crawled over to the little coffee table with a phone on it and dialed 911. "I-- I need an ambulance," she said with a little moaned. "Someone-- she was here. Lily, or something. My address is 846 Blanklez Ave. She..." Anne fell unconscious.

Lily giggled all the way home, but knew she'd have to lie low for awhile, so she decided to find a place to crash. Due to her mercenarial occupation, money was not an issue, so she decided to find a place near the pretty little square where Ash'd had fun earlier. Reaching there in about 20 minutes, she saw a bunch of nice apartments for lease, but decided she'd buy a cute little mansion across the way. It had a couple of towers, 4 stories, a fenced in shamble of a garden out front, and was by no means within her price range, so of course she bought it on the spot.
