Crane's demeanor reverted to his normal cold self. "You're correct, your choices are yours," he responded. "Though I believe you should know I have evidence that proves your involvement with the attack."

Crane sighed quietly and rubbed his eyes. "Ms. *IzzyNAME*, what would be your reason for continuing?" he asked, almost sounding tired.

Crane gave a sort of half grimace thing and nodded as he stood up. "I won't tell anybody what you've done as long as you keep your head above the water," he assured her. "I hope you'll think about what I've said."

"I gave it to you," Cate muttered. "Besides, bats are like rats with wings." The TV changed to the news. "BORING!" Cate shouted, kicking the remote. It broke, but the TV stayed on.
