Lily paused thoughtfully. "I can be a helpful ally, if you'll let me," she told Scarlett.

Scarlett looked at her. "You're just like them though," she pointed out. Not meaning to be offensive, though she didn't like what they did. "You sell your information out to the person with the most money and the most power. How do I know I can trust you?" But there was a barely recognizable twinkle of interest in her eye.

"True. But I like you. They bother me, especially that Ash with her...gaseous torture. It's not just about the money, unless I'm SERIOUSLY broke. Currently, though, I have more than enough funds to keep myself happily fed, so you shouldn't be worried." Lily told her, sensing a possible job.

Scarlett's eyebrows rose for almost a second in skepticism, but she spoke anyways. "You're the one who got me their addresses, remember?"

"Yes, why?" Lily asked.

"Those two women were Sheridan's best friends for years," Scarlett explained. "And Sheridan is sentimental."

"Oh. Well, then I'm assumed you are threatening them, or something of the sort? Clever plan..." Lily replied.

Scarlett nodded. "If Sheridan doesn't turn herself in to me within two more days, then her friends will die," she said coldly. "I expect she will come before that time."

"Impressive. But this is too impersonal, you need to prove to her that her friends will SUFFER, that they depend on her to save them." Lily said gleefully.

Scarlett looked at the woman. "I don't think that I would have the stomach for that, Cackletalk," she said wryly.

"You have the stomach for killing them, don't you, though? Because if you're bluffing about that, I think Ash will see through it." Lily told her bluntly.

"It's like ripping off a bandage," Scarlett told her. "The gun does the killing, and I can ignore it. And once one of them is gone, if she hasn't come by that point, she definitely will then. It's all worth the cause."

"Ok," Lily replied doubtfully, "but she'll be more likely to fold if you give her real cause to. I can help you there."

"I will let you know if I need your help," Scarlett told her coldly, not looking at Lily as she sipped her coffee. "In the meantime, I hope you have it in mind to keep silent about this."

"Well, honestly, my chances of getting out of this coffeehouse alive if I say 'no' are rather slim, so yes, I think I'll keep my big mouth shut for now." Lily intoned cheerfully.
