Jean followed Gordon towards the cameras, feeling a little awkward.

Once they were within range of the cameras a barrage of flashing occurred. Despite the large amounts of other reporters clamoring for a statement, Gordon approached Sam.
Collins just kinda sat back and watched.

Sam had finished their previous report and paused filming. They smiled at the approaching Jean and Gordon. "Can I interview you two?" she asked.

"It would probably be best to make a statement now, yes," Gordon said in response.

Sam nodded and gestured to the camera person to start filming again.
"I am standing here with officers James Gordon and Jean Arlanda. Commissioner Gordon, do you have any updates on the whereabouts of Scarlett Jaide?"

"At the moment, we do not. Officer Jaide has fled the department. Many of her recruits were left behind, but they were attacked during our pursuit of Jaide. The paramedics are currently inside to help save what lives they can," Gordon explained, his tone serious. "Thanks to the work of exemplary officers like Arlanda, we seem to be past the worst of the chaos."

"Officer Arlanda," Sam asked, turning to Jean, "how were you involved in all of this?"
Jean smiled a little awkwardly and said, "I came with Commissioner Gordon when he gave the interview announcing that he had been kidnapped, and I assisted in the fight at the department."

"Arlanda was the officer who discovered Jaide's cover up," Gordon supplied. "She has been loyal to the law, and the well-being of the people of Gotham from the start."

Unsure how to respond to the compliment, Jean said, "Thank you."
Picking up on Jean's discomfort, Sam directed her next question at Gordon: "What are your plans for the future of the Gotham City police department?"

"We need to rebuild," Gordon pointed out. "We need more officers, and a force willing to work for the people. And I intend to have Arlanda as my second in command throughout the process."

Jean looked at Gordon, surprised. "Gladly," she said in a firm voice.

Gordon gave a grateful nod to Jean. "I will be taking my place as commissioner once again."

Sam smiled. "Thank you for your time," they said, and turned back to the camera. "We will be back with more news when we have it. In the meantime, I will pass it over to Jim with the weather."

Gordon sighed when the camera turned off. "We'll probably have to ask for transfers from other cities," he mused to Jean.
