"Hello Miss Moss," Dr. Crane said through the phone. "I would just like to know how the antidote is coming along."

"I finished it." Allie was very careful to use the word I.

"Really?" The word seemed monotone. "Would you mind if I had a sample?"

"I'm sorry, Dr. Crane, but I have recently finished it. I still need to test it." Her voice was smooth and even.

"And I would like to test it as well," Crane said, his voice cold.

"It may be unsafe," Allie said simply.

"You trusted me with the actual toxin," Crane stated. "I doubt that I could harm myself with the antidote."

Dangit, Allie thought. She did NOT want to give her antidote to random people, that was all she knew. She tried another tactic. "If I gave it to you, she would surely target you," she pointed out.

"She'll never have to know I have it," Crane said.

"I'm sorry, I'd rather keep it to myself." Allie was really starting to get annoyed.

"I am the main reason you have it, Miss Moss," Dr. Crane almost hissed. "You told me that I would be informed in it's processing; since I obviously wasn't, I would like a sample."

"I'm sorry, but I don't think you need a sample, not for your job," she said, hiding her irritation. Instead she showed it by hanging up. A rush of satisfaction flowed through her.

'She did NOT,' Crane thought angrily as she hung up on him. 'I don't think you do either, actress. I WILL get some of that so-called antidote.'
