Ash grimaced, taking the hand Cate offered. "She'll be fine. She's not bleeding anymore or anything."
"Ugh," the Joker bgan, finally giving up the couch when it was no longer being asked of him. "All these feelings are making my skin crawl."
Crane threaded the needle for the stitching Aleenya's leg needed, and asked her petulantly, "Did something useful at least come out of your idiocy?"
"We saved their GOD BLESS AMERICA lives!" Aleenya shouted, accidentally banging her head on the table.
"Stop moving," Crane snapped, bending over to look at the cleaned wound again. Then, as he began the actual stitching, asked, "Saved Gordon?"
"And the other ones..." Cate pointed at the news for a clearer explanation.
"Ash* Sheridan, known as Paroxysm, and Aleenya Moss apparently aided Gordon, Arlanda, and Collins in their pursuit of Jaide," the reporter, Sam, said.
"Holy shiitake mushrooms, they gave us credit," Ash murmured, eyes growing wide. "Aleenya, did you hear that? They gave us credit!"
"Yayyyy," Aleenya said weakly, beginning to lose consciousness because I totally know anything medical.
Crane cast a glare at Aleenya as her voice faded. "Stay awake, Moss. I still need to figure out where your hand hurts the most."
Ash rushed back over to fuss over Aleenya at the prospect of her fainting. Then, as Crane finished the stitching, he caled, "Hunter, get a blanket."
Cate obliged, grabbing a medium warm blanket from her bed.
"Couch," Crane said, forcing Aleenya to sit up, and not-so-accidentally bumping her hurt hand. Ash helped him while Cate held the blanket like a nice person.
"What now?" Cate asked, looking at Ash.
"I dunno," Ash answered when Aleenya was on the couch, wrapped up in the blanket. "I guess we wait and see what happens..."
Cate turned up the volume on the TV.
Crane went back to his corner seat and grouched, watching the TV without a word. Ash sat on the floor near Aleenya's head and mused out loud, "Scarlett's still out there somewhere, then... I don't know if I should be happy she's lost, or worried that she could still cause trouble."
"I'm worried," Cate said. "That she'll do something worse than she already has. That she'll find out I found Gordon or.." she trailed off. Definitely not safe to talk about Scarlett and Joker being siblings with the Joker in the house. "Plenty of things. But there's nothing we can do about it, is there?"
