Aleenya watched her for a moment, then said, "So that I feel like I've done something productive with my life."

"Define productive," she replied flatly. Killian actually looked this rabid creature over now, and saw a more haggard, weary person than before. "What happened to you since I left, and who do I congradulate?"

"Productive as in revenge," Aleenya said. "And you can blame my darling little sister, who got me sent to Arkham and is now dead." Ahhhhhhh, her ability to hide her emotions. It was wonderful.

"You know, most people are able to work things out by talking. It's this nifty little trick someone came up with, communication with other living beings. I guess your inability just runs in the family." Good lord, when had she ever been this snarky??? Gotham seems to do that to people, I guess.

"My dear," Aleenya said. "You killed someone I cared about, and you paid the price. That's the way it is. You didn't have to take our little feud to that level."

"I did. And for that, I am eternally sorry." Killian said quietly. "I mean that. It shouldn't have gone that far. But where does punishment end, can I ask? What is the price of a life?"

Aleenya shook her head. "The price of a life? Trust me, if it cost anything to kill people, I would be long dead. No, your punishment was for my own reasons. Which is why I call it revenge."

"And you are qualified to make fair decisions for me? You hate me. Do you actually think it was just?" Killian asked, legitimately curious.

"Nope," Aleenya said. "I never said it was just. It was revenge."

Killian laughed humorlessly. "And did it make you any happier? Did it lessen the pain of what I did to your sweetheart? Yes, it probably made you feel on top of the world to destroy people knowing I would feel the same pain, but did it honestly lessen your own at all?"

"Simpleminded," Aleenya said. "You don't understand the psychology of revenge."

"No, I don't", Killian replied bluntly. "Would you explain?"

"Look," Aleenya said. "I didn't necessarily come to argue. It's just rather instinctive, you know?"

Killian snorted. "Then what did you come here for?"

"Funny how similar we are," Aleenya said. "With what happened. Both of us blame ourselves, and we're both the only ones left."
