Yay for nice boring court scenes, that are even boring when drama shows try and make them not so!
Scarlett arrived at the courthouse, looking forward to seeing the trapped expressions on Cate and Izzy’s foolish faces. She sat in her spot in the witnesses or whatever’s first row. Lily walked into the courthouse, calm and ready to kick some lawyer ass. The media ambushed her at the entrance, demanding details on the case, and who she was. She said, “No comment.” Despite her lack of former training, she remembered absolutely destroying everyone on the debate team in highschool one time, and NOT with knives. Tons of people were already present and stared at her as she entered the main courtroom. “Yes, ladies and gentleman, your entertainment for the night is here! Oh, stop applauding!” There was no applause. She sat down haughtily. Izzy was escorted into the room by 2 guards who were obviously quite nervous around her. “I promise not to kill you in front of other people,” she said nastily, enjoying the benefits of being on trial for releasing convicted psychopaths. People get all terrified of you. She cackled when they flinched. “…seriously, Izzy?” Cate said from nearby. “You know, death threats don’t accomplish things. They just make people return them. And then… kill you.” She looked around herself. “I’m not saying it accomplishes anything, it just makes me feel better!” She replied cheerily. “And since they’re cops, they’re not really allowed to kill me anyways, so:” and blew a raspberry. “Technically, if you actually try to kill them, I would think they can,” Cate pointed out. “And I have to admit,

(*has no idea what I was going to say* Why didn't I just finish the sentence?) Alright, I'm solving this problem.
Cate was interrupted by a loud noise and forgot to finish her sentence. She looked around and tried to figure out what it was.
(There. Now... someone figure out what it was. xD)

Izzy jumped and sort of whimpered at the crash. She glanced up from cowering and saw Lily, who looked quite innocent, and Scarlett, who looked rather dazed.

We don't know what happened. SO pretty much, the thing started. Everyone sat down and things started. Each side said their opening statements: pretty much Izzy and Cate's side said that the Joker forced them to break Aleenya and Ash out, and then Scarlett's side said that was bullshiitake mushrooms. They argued for way too long of a time, and stuff went down. It was nearly the end of the trial, and the entire jury was just about to be dismissed to make their decision... and then the Joker burst into the courtroom, laughing loudly just for the hella У೦o○೦o○o of it.

"There's no need for all that, Lieutenant!" he called out the Joker. Scarlett's eyes widened and she snapped her head around. Her entire expression froze pure hatred.

Lily frowned. This could mess things up considerably... "WHAT exactly are you doing here?!"

"Oh, I just wanted to put an end to this little farce," the Joker answered jovially, though his eyes narrowed. "I dragged these two to let Moss and Paroxysm out of Arkham," he admitted, crossing his arms, "And they turned out to be sickeningly well-moraled."

"Unless they still don't believe us," Cate muttered. "Honestly. That seems to be happening quite a bit lately."
Why was he helping them?

Scarlett quit staring. "You fools!" she shouted, "Hold him!" The bailiffs, jumping out of their stupor, clutched the Joker's arms tightly. He didn't bother with struggling. "They're not the ones you should be worried about catching," he responded. "It's the people like us, isn't it? It seems to me like the police are just trying to find some scapegoats. They'll never get anything done like that." Scarlett's fists clenched. "Don't let him talk," she said authoritatively, with clarity. "Get him out of here!"

"What are you, related?" Cate said rather randomly.

As the bailiffs dragged him out, he hissed wordlessly at Scarlett, appearing to be triumphant for an unknown reason. Scarlett gritted her teeth, clenching and unclenching her fists. This trial needed to end now. She had to make sure he didn't escape. He could never get out again. If he were gone, suddenly her entire job would become manageable.

The jurors were allowed to leave the room, to decide on their verdict and so on. The great majority of them already knew what they were going to do, having been promised generous sums of money from a previous caller. Ash had promised them quite a bit in bribes, and many were easily bought out, however they knew that they would not get the money unless Cate and Izzy got off. Sheridan would cancel the payments or something some special way that I would have planned out. Involving checks or something. If I were more money fluent I would know. Anyway. Those who needed the money would defend the two to the end, and those who were still hesitant had been swayed by the Joker's last comment. The two girls had been forced by the Joker, so says he, but then, on top of that, they were the ones being sent to jail, not the real villains. (bad phrasing, w/e) For the most part, there was very little arguing. Only a small bit of swaying or something.
They returned to the courtroom and gave their verdict. The two were coerced into setting the villains free, and did not deserve excessive punishment. The already corrupt judge, who had also been payed by Ash, then provided a simple sentence of a bit of community service, to appease the press or police or something.
Scarlett almost had a stroke with how infuriated she was. (I just realized that we never wrote her finding out about Lily helping also. That would piss both of them off I believe.... Add it when we're bored?)

(Yeah, do that. One of the parts of my dream last night was that I was on trial for something, it wasn't this, there was no Lily or Lily or Scarlett or Parox or anything, but I was guilty of something and trying to get off, and so I was nervous for my trial? It was fun. xD And then I went and found a bunch of gold coins in someones' house for a contest.)
Cate had to resist the urge of chanting We got off. We got off. We got off, in a rather Fred/George/Ginnyish way.
