Aleenya bit her lip. "I don't know."

"M-Maybe he's just at a shelter or something," Ash whispered.

"I'm sure he is," Aleenya said. "I mean, what else would they do with him? He's a cat. If he doesn't have a home, they take him to a shelter. I'm sure he's fine. Maybe we can go looking for him sometime." If that wasn't exactly what Scarlett intended.

Ash nodded. "Yeah.. he'll be okay.."

"Yeah." Aleenya moved a hand to rest on Ash's arm. "I'm going to cook some food, okay? Anything in particular you want?"
Obviously, there was a fully supplied kitchen in the abandoned warehouse. They had their groceries from the car.

Ash shook her head. "Make sure.. Cate and Izzy are okay?"

"Will do," Aleenya said, although she still didn't know Cate and Izzy all that well. She got up and walked across the warehouse.

After Aleenya dropped off Izzy and Cate, she slowly made her way home. It was strange to see her mom getting along with two women not that much younger than herself.
And it was unfair, so incredibly unfair, for Scarlett to take their house away.
She supposed it made since legally, because they were criminals. But it had been their home. Doesn't everyone deserve a home, no matter what they've done?
By the time she parked in front of the warehouse and went inside, she was in a bad mood.

"Moss, start finding a new place," Crane commanded of her when she entered. "Sheridan is useless."
He was already sorting and moving the remaining supplies they had. The majority of the expensive food Aleenya had bought before had been put aside.

"What are you doing?" Aleenya demanded. "This is fine for now. And Ash isn't useless, she's grieving." She stood in the doorway and glared at him.

"I'm minimalizing," Crane answered. "There is no time for grieving, unless you want to be attacked by Jaide again."

"Minimalizing? You're getting rid of our shiitake mushrooms without asking. Does it ever occur to you, Craneling, that Ash let you stay in her house when she could have thrown you out on the street?" Aleenya leaned against a wall and kept on glaring at him.

"And now we have no house, and she has nothing left to provide, evidently," Crane muttered, with a glance to Sheridan, who was still sitting on the floor, her face hidden in her knees.
He didn't particularly know, or care, if she was listening, but she was. And she didn't disagree.

"She let you stay in her house," Aleenya repeated. "She isn't a, a tool to feed and shelter you. She's a human being, with these things called feelings, and she just lost the only home she has. You expect her to bounce right out of it?"

"That is what we need, yes!" Crane snapped. "We don't have the time, or security to not start doing what needs to be done, and she's just sitting there." He glared at Sheridan, as he gestured, finally dropping what he was doing. "You're doing nothing but dragging us down behaving like this."
She didn't move.
