Jean's look softened, but all she said was, "That's not my decision to make." It was the right decision, though, she thought. At least for the moment.
"Got it," Aleenya said. She pointed her gun at Jean, then hesitated and decided to try to sneak around her.

"I'm done," Ash told Jean, in a now clearly shaking whisper. "I'm sorry."
Crane, soon after seeing what Aleenya was attempting to do, made a dash towards Jean, to keep the cop's attention away from Moss, and Sheridan, for the moment.

Jean spun towards him and fired at his leg, not wanting to kill him.
(She can miss if you want)

Crane was able to avoid the shot, with some rather erratic movements, but kept advancing. If not directly at her, then at the chance of freedom behind her.
Ash had barely moved; Only to look at Crane in bewilderment, and say, again, "I'm sorry." Even she didn't know who it was directed at in that moment.

"Ash!" Aleenya said. "Come on!" She fired a shot in Jean's direction and grabbed Ash's arm, shooting in Jean's directions.
It missed, but Jean started firing back.

Ash allowed herself to be led by Aleenya as directed. Crane shot (as in running shot, not shooting shot, cause I'm funny) past Jean with the other two. They arrived in the alleyway quickly, shortly followed by the remaining mercenaries.
The alleys consisted of a maze of small, dirty streets, tangling together in chaos. If there was anywhere to lose their tail it would be here-- but Crane was well aware that he did not in fact know the way through either.
Luckily, Haymich's head popped up again, from one of the corners directly near them. "This way, c'mon!" he whispered loud enough for them to hear, before dashing away.

Aleenya gripped Ash's hand and followed*, for once not questioning Haymich's agenda.
Jean started sprinting after them.
(*probably that does slow them down, but she's afraid you'll just stand there)

Ash kept up with Aleenya as best she could. Knowing, at least, that she didn't want to let go of her. Crane was close behind, but out of practice. He hadn't run in a while.
Haymich made very sharp turns at random, expecting the three to follow, and hoping that the more sudden and sooner the turns, the further their tail would fall behind. It began working, but it was still very soon that the attackers arrived in the same alley as them.

Aleenya spun around for just a moment and fired a few shots, and then kept running.
Jean had fallen behind the super-trained ninjas and lost sight of the criminals, though she wasn't far behind.

After several minutes of running, Haymich suddenly turned, magically bounding backwards. "Dumpsters up ahead, jump in when ya get a chance. Don't let them see ya!"
As he said so, he made another quick turn, and dived into one of the nearby dumpsters. He was quite lucky though, as his appeared to be filled only with construction work. The worst he got was a cut across his fingers. He crouched down. There. He helped.

Aleenya dove into the one next to him, which was unfortunately filled with rotting food. She suffered through it, gesturing for Ash to join her.

Ash did so, and Crane followed, not willing to risk trying to find a separate one. He didn't even look that disgusted as he shut his eyes tightly.
After a painfully, and simultaneously long and short couple of seconds, the mercenaries sped through. Loud enough that it was clear they had barely made a dent in their forces.

Aleenya spent the long moment with her gun pointed at the dumpster lid, terrified that someone might think to look inside it. When the mercenaries were finally gone-- and after several minutes more-- she climbed out and went over to Haymich.

Ash and Crane climbed out of the dumpsters as well, removing any nasty food that had managed to get on them.
Haymich just looked innocently out of his dumpster at Aleenya. "They all gone now?"

"You know," Aleenya said thoughtfully, "I'm really glad I decided not to torture you."
