HIS BASEMENT YAY.
The Joker decided to flounce down into the basement to visit his new pet commissioner.

Gordon was bored. Bored out of his mind. He had, of course, been somewhat prepared for such an occurrence. After all, this was Gotham. But he had neglected to think of all the hours in between being tortured for information.
Due to his current state of mind, the Joker's arrival was almost a relief. "Oh, thank God, I was starting to think I'd have to talk to myself to use my voice."

The Joker laughed at him. "Oh you, you've always had quite a bit of spirit, hm, commissioner?"

"Well, it's nice of you to say so. Why do you mention it?" Gordon asked innocently.

'Well, you're the one that's always tried to keep Gotham out of the pit it really is," The Joker pointed out, putting a tray of food in front of the man. "I'm excited to see what kind of hella У೦o○೦o○o it will become now that you're out of the picture.

"Ohhh, I understand now. This is strategy, not just fun. I forget that some of your madness is intentional sometimes," Gordon replied, sniffing the food for poison. Not seeing or scenting anything strange, he ate voraciously.

"There's always method in the madness, commissioner!" the Joker exclaimed pointedly, "I figured you'd be the first to understand that, considering how you work."

"Whatever interesting parallels you've drawn between us, there is the distinct difference in sanity that separates me from you, Joker. And anyways, there are deputies back at the station. How is one man being gone going to change anything?" the commissioner asked, genuinely curious.

"Well, the people enjoy working for you, and the corrupt ones are scared. What do you think would happen if the one who keeps them in their place happened to just.. disappear?" The Joker smirked. "You overestimate the amount of people who are actually loyal to the law, my dear commissioner."

"I am not the lynch pin in Gotham's police force, Joker. If you think removing me will allow everything to collapse, you're dreaming," Gordon scoffed.

The Joker laughed. "You may be right, just you being gone may not do anything yet.. but imagine if someone happened to offer a large sum of money to anyone who left. How many do you think would leave?"

Gordon paused. "That's more like the clever bastard I know," he said quietly, and sighed. "Whatever happens, we will put the pieces back together."

The Joker grinned slowly. "Because it's already happened. And I'm not the one who planned it. The only people left are some newbies, Jean Arlanda and Scarlett Jaide," his voice grew coldly entertained by the end of his sentence.

"Oh..." Gordon replied. The would be much work to be done once he got out of this, and he firmly believed he would. The man never lost hope. "Why should I even believe you?"

"I could show you it on the news," The Joker said pointedly.
